|
How do Appleseed Productions' season tickets work? |
back to top |
|
Appleseed's season tickets work differently
than some others. Instead of having one ticket to see each of our shows,
our ticket package contains as many tickets as there are shows produced
here, but those tickets may be used any way the ticket holder chooses
(with some restrictions).
Also, instead of sending out a physical
ticket or pass, our ticket holders' names are kept on file at Appleseed,
and all you have to do is call us to tell us which performance(s) you
would like to see. We then put your name on the first empty seat(s)
closest to the stage. That way we keep track and don't have to worry about
losing anything.
For more information, go to our
Season Tickets page. |

Where do auditions take
place? |

Unless otherwise noted,
all auditions will take place at Appleseed's home, Atonement Lutheran Church,
116 W. Glen Ave, Syracuse. |
|
What do I need to prepare to audition? |
|
Generally, for a play, there are no
preparations necessary - Appleseed's auditions consist of cold readings
from the script.
For musicals, you will usually also be
asked to prepare a song to sing or a portion of one, and often auditioners
will be given some movement to learn.
Sometimes our directors ask that a
monologue be prepared. If there are special preparations, they will be
listed in the audition announcement. Those announcements can be viewed on
our Auditions page. |
|
What kind of experience do I need to audition? |
back to top |
|
Parts in our shows are awarded to the persons
best suited to the roles in question, however, you don't need ANY
experience to actually audition for a show at Appleseed. |
|
How will I know if I got the part? |
|
Generally, you are told at the audition when
decisions on casting will be made, and when you can expect notification.
It is Appleseed's policy to call call everyone who auditioned for our
shows, whether or not you are cast in the show. However, every once in a
while someone falls through the cracks and no notification is given. Our
apologies. If you have questions as to whether or not you've made it into
one of our shows, feel free to Contact Us. |

Can I direct a show at Appleseed Productions? |
back to top |
|
In order to be considered as a director for
Appleseed Productions, you must have directed, assisting directed, or
music directed a production at Appleseed.
A
person who would like to direct for Appleseed Productions but who does not
meet the eligibility requirements as outlined above, must
contact the Artistic
Director and provide the Artistic Director with his/her directorial
resume. The Artistic Director may then submit that person to the Steering
Committee for approval as a prospective director, which must be obtained
before that person is eligible to submit a script to the Script Search
Panel. Any such prospective director must also choose a Mentor from a list
of candidates provided by the Steering Committee prior to submission. If
that person’s script is not selected for the upcoming season, s/he retains
that approval and is eligible to submit scripts for consideration in
future Script Search processes, but is still required to work with a
Mentor throughout his/her first actual directorial assignment with
Appleseed. At the conclusion of that first assignment, the new director
will meet with the Artistic Director for a debriefing of his/her
experience.
If you
meet the above requirement and are interested in submitting a script to
direct, go here to read about our Script
Search Process. |
